In his mind, a bar had to have been the perfect place to get away from it all. He liked his job with the UWSO, but everyone needs a vacation. Aridel had excused him and four other hard working soldiers from training for five days to be with family. Aelin had family, a lonely mother and a famous father, but as usual, he preferred to be on his own. He rarely drank, and didn't understand what it was he liked about the atmosphere of a good, smelly bar. He'd probably be sick of the vacation after one day, he knew his place was with the other soldiers of the UWS. It's what he enjoyed, what he lived for, and knowing he was helping out a worthy cause made it all the better.
He was a lone, he didn't know any of the other soldiers that were excused personally, and other than his buddies in the clan, he didn't know anyone. Being Samuel Collier's son you'd think you're entitled to be recognized, but he was ignored; perfect.
Aelin sat at the first empty table he saw available, a bottle of vodka in one hand and a small glass in the other. He leaned back in his chair, stretched out his feet and let his eyes scan the people around him, watching the world go by. He hadn't gotten laid in nearly six months, but the thought of sex had never been very strong to him. Very few men were very worth it anyway, and more than anything at that moment he wanted to get out, cut some Spade throats and crack some codes anything along the lines of what he loved best. But more realistically, just someone to talk to would have been nice as well.

It had been a long day for anyone that was doing anything along the lines of going out into the city. The streets were packed with hover cars and flying bikes, and below that stood millions of people all crowded in one place, which was the street. It seemed as though everyone and their grandmother came out today to do random, slow things. And yet, up above, a vampire sat on his lime green and yellow hover scooter in the long line of cars waiting for the floating light to change to green. This particular vampire, of being named Kaius, was wanting to have some time to sit down at a nice bar and flirt with men. Sighing, the line started to move, and he made his way to the bar.
Once there, Kaius could see an extremely long line of people standing outside of the bar. He forgot that you had to pay and get a ticket to get into this one. It was because of their respect in the city of one of the best bars there. Stalking closer, he spotted a small hole behind the bouncer. He walked over, quietly and gracefully, and tried to slip in behind the tall, buff man. He had almost made it in when his shirt snicked the side of the man, and he turned around. “What do you think you’re doing there, bub?” he asked, crossing his arms.
Immediately slipping into flirt mode, Kaius smiled sheepishly. “Well, don’t you seem like a perfectly capable, young man?” he asked and leaned against the bouncer. “I seem to have forgotten my wallet at–“
“If you don’t have any money, then get out and stop touching me, you weirdo.” the bouncer said, pushing Kaius off of him.
The vampire pouted and backed up a bit, putting his hands up defensively. “But, baby, I just need a little drink, please?” he asked, drawing out the last word and made a face that made you want to punch a baby. It wasn’t going to work, but it was worth a try. The bouncer advanced on him and caught his shoulder in a tight grip. This wasn’t going to work at all.

Aelin had always been the type to mind his own damn business, it was a rule he lived by, only take care of your own problems, and you live longer.
He was becoming quite bored by the time the scene caught his eye. He seemed to be the only one to notice that some crazy chance-taker was trying to sneak by into the bar. He had a mind to alert one of the staff members himself, but once again, he decided to mind his own business. Not to his surprise the ticket taker noticed the sneak, and took to normal interrogation procedures. The intriguing part was the manner in which the younger man tried to flirt his way out of paying, and the fact that he seemed to actually think something like that would work.
Aelin leaned his head on his hand and watched the scene, he'd never been much for comedy but this was quite funny. He couldn't read lips, but by the expression on the guard's face said something of what the other man was saying. After a bit of messing around the much larger of the two men looked quite unhappy, and annoyed. Aelin ditched his MYOB rule and brought himself to his feet...

Kaius pouted as the body-builder bouncer took a hold of his shoulder and squeezed. It would have been much smarter and, most likely, a lot easier if he had just backed down and allowed himself to be escorted out of the bar. But then again, Kaius was much to stubborn for that. He wanted his daily sit down with some random guy in the bar and he was going to get it, darn it!
And so, Kaius stood there, thinking of what he could say. He could always threaten the guy. Kaius looked him up and down as quickly as possible. Yeah, right. Him and what army? And then, he could flirt with him, but then again the man hadn’t seemed all too interested in Kaius’ musings about how hot he was. In fact, the man was as ugly as hell, but hey, a guy’s got to do what a guy’s got to do. Sighing, Kaius blinked innocently at the man and patted the hand on his shoulder. “I’m really, very sorry, but I’ll pay later. I’m sure I could work out one of those little tab things–“ he started, but was then rudely interrupted... again.
“I don’t think so.” the bouncer said, shoving him towards the door much to Kaius’ protests. “You either get the hell out of this bar like I asked you before, or I’ll call security and have them rip you limb from limb.” he said. Kaius winced. That didn’t sound all to good right at this moment.

Aelin sped his pace when he very faintly heard the threatening words, he wasn't in the mood to watch someone get their limbs ripped off. At what seemed to be the last minute he reached out an arm reluctantly and put it on the guard's shoulder, tugging him back a little hard than he'd meant to. He wasn't in the mood to have his own limbs ripped off either. To recover for his first action he shakily slapped a twenty dollar bill onto the man's chest.
"That's eight dollars more than a ticket costs, I assume it works?" He tugged once again on the large, strong, frightening looking man's shoulder.
"It works," He pushed Aelin's hand off him in reply. "This guy with you?" He jerked a thumb at the other man.
"Does it matter, you got twenty bucks in your hand, dumbass," Aelin grunted. The guard looked down at his hand blankly almost as if he was unaware of what the piece of paper was.
"I guess it doesn't," He shoved the money into his pocket and shut up, and that's all Aelin wanted at this point. He scoffed shortly and turned around to return to his table, he shouldn't have done that, he should have minded his own business. He seemed to be regretting things even when they turned out the way he wanted them to.

Kaius was just about to start pleading for mercy from the big, mean bouncer when a hand appeared on his shoulder, turning the tall man around. He watched as the new man shoved money into the bouncer’s palm. Kaius gaped at the twenty dollar bill. The man was actually paying for his admittance into the bar! That was by far the nicest thing anyone had done for a little old vampire like himself. He smiled and stuck his tongue out at the bouncer as he turned around.
When he looked back, the man was gone back to sitting at his table, looking a bit relieved that the whole thing was over with, but had a tinge of regret hanging among his features. Kaius had to admit, the man was pretty cute. And so, he made his way over to the man’s table, wanting to thank him and at least get a little bit of flirting in before he had to go. He had, unfortunately spent most of his time dealing with the bouncer and now only had thirty minutes until sunrise, in which he hated to be in.
Once he was over to the table, Kaius slipped his hands around his savior’s waist and laid his head on one of his shoulders. “Thank you for what you did back there, that was very nice of you.” he said, and then switched shoulders so he could look at the other side of the man’s face. He giggled. “Has anyone ever told you how exotic you look in dimmed light?” he asked, smiling broadly.

Aelin cringed when he felt a pair of hands wrap around his waist, yes, this was why he had regretted helping that man in the first place, it was all very clear to him now. His eyes widened, feeling a chin come to rest on his shoulder. He turned his head slowly and cautiously to see a grin, a friendly one, but perhaps in the wrong sense. When the man spoke to him the words barely registered, in fact, only two words were running through his mind. You idiot he thought, insulting himself over and over again in his head.
Immediately after he was complimented in such a suggestive way he let his mouth hang open as he often did when he was slightly stunned. He simply blinked for a few moments, looking at the other man blankly.
"You're welcome," He finally said plainly. "And no, I don't think anyone's ever used those words to describe me," He swallowed, sitting up a bit into a more comfortable position.

Kaius smiled at the effect he had on the man he was hugging. He ran his fingers through his hair and frowned, realizing how very soft it was. He nuzzled the man’s hair and smiled wide enough to show his fangs. “Well, you do, and your hair is like Egyptian Cotton. I wish my hair was as soft as yours.” he said, patting his head.
Finally, the vampire took up a seat next to the boy and scooted it in closer, so that they were inches apart. “You have failed to tell me your name. I mean, after saving my like from Giganto over there, I would think that I deserve to know what my rescuers name was.” he said. He brought one of his hands up to hold up his head as he smiled seductively at the boy in front of him. He looked nice, not too buff, but enough to where he had a good amount of muscle on him. He was all together a stud.
Kaius let the hand that wasn’t holding his head up fall down to land on the man’s hand that was around his drink. He loved to flirt with men like him, who just go with the flow instead of pushing him away. It gave him a better chance of getting together with that person, and oh how he would love to be with this man. He was so sexy to a point that Kaius wanted to drool. Hey, a guy’s got to have a hobby.

Aelin steady himself, he wasn't about to freak out over this, freaking out just generally wasn't in his blood. At least, that's what he told himself, before he felt a disturbance on the top of his head. He gripped the arm of his chair and narrowed his eyebrows. He didn't do anything to his hair to make it look that way, it just did, why then was he just complimented on it. And why was he sweating, oh, that's why, it was to late not to freak out, he was already headed toward it. Of course, Aelin had the ability to freak out without showing it at all, he could keep his cool.
"Aelin," He forced a friendly smile when his name was asked of him. "Aelin Collier, and you are?" He questioned. He raised an eyebrow when the other's and was placed on his, and when the other man scooted closer to him.
He wasn't bad looking, not at all, but this kind of behavior was like nothing he was used to with UWSO. They were more the type to pat you on the shoulder, or punch you in the arm in greeting. They all thought they were comedians, this one seemed to enjoy his uncomfortable state. He normally didn't make assumptions about someone's sexual orientation, but this was a little obvious.

Kaius smiled when he was told the other name’s name. Aelin Collier. It sounded like a nice name, and farmiliar, too, but he couldn’t for the life (no pun intended) of him think of what it was. Oh well, it was still a nice name whether he had heard it before or not. He continued to play with the boy’s hair and giggled when he was asked his name. “Kaius.” he said simply and leaned in to nuzzle the boy’s hair again.
“I am Kaius Eros, a vampire.” he said, making it sound as seductive as possible while still playing with his hair. He reached a knot and frowned at it. He lifted his arm and started untying the small knot that had come up in his hair while he had been playing with it. He was doing the man a favor, at least. He wouldn’t have hair looking like it came off of a mule.
He finally got the knot out and brought up the courage deep inside of him to ask. “Are you doing anything tonight, Aelin?” he asked, putting his hand back to hold his head up. He hoped not. Maybe they could go out for dinner or something. At least, Aelin could go out for dinner. Kaius could sit there and watch him eat. It wasn’t as bad as it seemed.

Aelin was rather beginning to like this little... whatever it was, once he'd gotten his mind straight. He bit his bottom lip when the other revealed his name and nuzzled into his hair again. He was trying to hold back a smile, smiling would give away too much, body language had to have been the most annoying thing, he could never keep himself from using it. The smile was more out of humor, dry indirect humor, he wasn't even sure what was funny, but his expression didn't lie. Luckily the other man seemed very busy-- wait, not a man at all, the vampire seemed very busy fooling with a knot in his hair.
Aelin sat still and loosened his grip on the arm of the chair, able to relax a little more. "Vampire eh?" His eyes fell shut, and immediately after they popped open, and he wondered why he had shut them in the first place. "I..." He stopped, he was going to say something but what was it. "I know plenty of them in my clan, for future reference I rather enjoy being human," He saved himself. He said those words to every vampire he met, simply to avoid the question some of the more blood thirsty ones seemed to love to ask.
When his hair was released he sat up into a less slouched and more comfortable position. After the question was asked he for the first time turned his head and looked at the man directly, his mouth hanging open once again. It was a habit, people made fun of him for it, but at least it forced him to keep his teeth well brushed. "No," He said it silently. "No, I'm pretty much going to be bored for the next five days it looks like, they call it vacation," He stopped quickly and looked down at his hands, not wanting to go into a ramble. "Why?" He looked up again.

The vampire’s smile widened when he heard the man say he didn’t want to become a vampire. He was bold, and Kaius liked that. “Well,” he started, leaning over to put one hand on Aelin’s thigh. “I wasn’t going to try to bring you over, anyway. I think it would ruin your complexion. Especially with your pretty hair. You would look much too fragile for my tastes.” he said, eyeing his face constantly.
There was a long pause before the human in front of him asked him a question. “Why?” Kaius repeated, thinking of a good reason as to why he had asked for the man if he had anything to do for that night. He had wanted to go out on a date with him, but he had to be subtle, and not give the impression that he was going to attack him or anything. No, then he wouldn’t have anyone to play with for the night, and it would be very boring at that.
Satisfied, Kaius shrugged and took a hold of Aelin’s drink. “I just wanted to know, because I’m free.” he said as he brought it up to his lips and drank a bit of his drink. “Mmm... this isn’t half bad, considering I can’t taste it,” he said, turning to grin at the human. “What is it?”

He didn't move when he felt a hand placed on his thigh, but ran his tongue across his lips which were quickly becoming very dry. He blushed and looked down at the hand as the vampire gave him another compliment, he could feel the eyes on him even when he turned away. The guy was doing something to him, he hadn't been the first to have this effect, only last time it was a woman. He blinked, flushing the thought out of his mind, one he was supposed to have forgotten a long time ago.
"Good thing," He finally opened his mouth again and shifted his weight. Aelin snapped up into a curious stare when the other said he was free that night as well. His eyes followed the hand that reached down to pick up the bottle of vodka that he had all but completely forgotten about. He cocked his head to the side and blinked when he actually took a drink of it, a vampire shouldn't have any reason for having a taste of any sort of flavored drink.
"Lavender," He replied when he was asked what it is. "Lavender vodka, my favorite," He nodded. He paused for a moment, deciding one of two things he was going to say. "Sun's coming up in a little while, it's supposed to be a scorcher. But since we both got nothing to do maybe later when it goes back down..." He stopped. "I don't really know what you like to do," He shrugged.

((Sorry it's so short.))
Kaius gazed into the small short glass and sat it down, enough left in it for the human to have one more drink if he wished to. True, he couldn’t taste the alcohol, but he at least wanted to try. One thing he had always missed since he had been converted was enjoying the tasted of new food and drinks. Oh, how he missed tasting anything other than blood. He never liked the taste of blood, and so he only drinks when he needs to.
The vampire turned to look out the windows, pouting when he saw a small tinge of purple to the sky behind all of the tall towards and floating cars. He didn’t want to leave just yet. Maybe he could find a way to get home while only experiencing a little sunlight. Or maybe...
Kaius turned his head to stare into Aelin’s eyes. He smiled long and hard with one hand on his thigh and bringing the other to rest on the human’s shoulder. “You know, I could always come over to see your place. I’m sure it’s nice, and I wouldn’t be a bother.” he said, making a pouty face with an evil smile hidden beneath it.

Aelin picked up the glass after it was put down and drank down the last sip of it. Not long after he picked up the bottle and poured more into the glass, leaving it there until he felt like having another. He was rather intrigued by the fact that the vampire would even think to try it; he didn't like to admit it, but sometimes he realized he did see them as a different being despite that he didn't like to. After all, they were different in many ways.
Aelin frowned when he saw the other notice the sunrise, guess that means it's time for him to start heading home. Aelin picked up the glass again and drank the whole think in one gulp, leaving it there, he did need some sleep after all.
He turned immediately back to the vampire in a rather jumpy manner when a hand was laid on his shoulder. He stared in thought as the vampire spoke, wondering what he would get himself into by saying yes. Then again, what could it hurt? He'd be going back to the UWSO in five more days, and he'd probably never see the guy after that. But somehow that didn't help anything, not only that but made it worse. "Well," He started, not yet certain what he was going to say. "I guess so," he stopped. "All right, yeah, we'd better go now though," He replied.
