Alright,so Elle knew this wasn't the best place to go. The sun was starting to set her dog Emmett was exploring the rest of the cemetery to her left. She was shaking, not from the cold, but in fear. Three times she'd practically ran someone over on the way here. This wasn't like her, but she was too frightened to care. She'd been reminded of that night and now she was shaking uncontrollably. Soccer..that's what she needed. A good game of soccer.
In the cemetery. Ha! When she played the only thing on her mind was getting the ball in the net. It was literally impossible for her to think of anything else. Elle normally got too caught up in the game. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she looked for a good place to sit down. She'd brought a duffel bag because home wasn't a safe place anymore.
She recalled what had happened 4 weeks ago. The police had been appalled by the horrific scene. What was Elle to say? My vampire brother strolled into the house yesterday and ate my parents? She bit her lip. Stop it Elle, you're just making things worse for yourself... What was the first sign that you're going insane? Talking to yourself. Well, technically she wasn't actually talking. Did that count?
She'd finally figured out something to keep her busy. Her favorite book, but right now she wanted to know how to help her brother, the out-of-control vampire. The book didn't help in that area.
Elle's dog was sitting right beside her. Of course she couldn't leave him behind. He whimpered. The dog was ready to get back up and start walking again. Elle smiled and pet the dog's thick coat. It's okay babe. Just let me finish some of this and we'll go. The dog instantly licked her nose and Elle laughed. Stop that! She said grinning and then got back to reading her book.
The sun had set and it was pitch black. No stars. Elle lay against her parents headstones.
